CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF LIVING MATTER


Generally all matter in this universe is made up of chemical substances.
Likewise , our body is also made up of chemical substances.
Major constituents of chemicals in our body are listed below:

  1. Carbon-C
  2. Nitrogen-N
  3. Oxygen-O
  4. Hydrogen-H
  5. Sulphur-S
  6. Phosphorous-P
For examples:
  • The nitrogenous wastes of our body is made up of ammonia.The components in ammonia are Nitrogen and hydrogen(NH3).
  • Starch is made up of Carbon ,Hydrogen,Oxygen (CH2O)n.
  • 70%of our body is made up of Water(H2O) i.e.,Hydrogen and oxygen.
  • DNA(Carbon,Hydrogen,Oxygen,nitrogen).
  • Some proteins are made up of Carbon,Hydrogen,Oxygen,nitrogen ,Sulphur and phosphorous.

Living symbol of Peace   GENERAL FEATURES It is cosmopolitan in nature. It is a gentle bird. It reffered to be the "Symbol of peace." It exhibits social behaviour. They fly in flocks and roost( a place where birds are going to sleep ) together. It is monogamous and the partnership is lasts for entire life.
