CARNIVOROUS PLANTS

Insectivorous plants

The plants which eat or trap the insects as a food materials are said to be Insectivorous plants.
Some examples are Drosera,Nepenthes,Utricularia,etc.
They are green in colour.
They show autotrophic nutrition.
Mostly these plants live in the Nitrogen deficient soil.Thats why, they get the nitrogen from the food materials (by trapping the insects).
